Modular refuelling & tank engineering
Storage tanks & tank engineering
The process defines the storage.

Engineering perspective
The process defines the storage.
Vertical steel tanks and their process, fabrication and installation interfaces. A specification starts with the stored medium and service conditions.
Medium, working volume, temperature and pressure are process data. They should not be inferred from external dimensions or a tank trade name.
Materials and protection are coordinated with corrosion, insulation and maintenance. Confirm roof type, connections, platforms and accessories.
The technical agreement defines fabrication, welding, erection, inspections and documentation. Piping and foundations require explicit interfaces.

System options and selection criteria
Swipe the table to view all criteria →
| Configuration | Application | Engineering criterion |
|---|---|---|
| Roof and storage arrangement | Solution defined by medium and service conditions | Confirm evaporation, venting, access and accessories with process engineering. |
| Prefabrication and site erection | Shell courses, bottoms, roofs and accessories | Coordinate segmentation with transport, welding and erection geometry. |
| Process integration | Nozzles, piping, instrumentation and containment | Record orientation, piping loads and discipline boundaries. |
Inputs that define your project
- Medium and working volume
- Temperature and pressure
- Site, wind, seismic and foundation conditions
- Corrosion, insulation and accessories
Interfaces to resolve
- Nozzles and process piping
- Foundation, supports and access
- Erection, inspection and protection
Project documentation
- Agreed design inputs and criteria
- Drawings and interface schedule
- Fabrication and inspection documents
- Installation, testing and handover plan
Availability, detail and responsibilities are defined in the technical agreement.
Engineering questions
Are geometric and working volume the same?
Not necessarily. Maximum level, free space, operating conditions and accessories affect usable volume. Specify which volume is required.
Can a tank be selected without specifying the medium?
The medium and service conditions inform materials, protection, venting and interfaces. Define them before selection is finalised.

Refuelling and tanks: define capacity, service and scope.
The next step starts with your requirements.
Location, intended use, site conditions and scope. The right inputs make a focused technical discussion possible.
